How to choose WooCommerce hosting in 2026: 9 things that actually matter

Grzegorz Ciupek · Updated 6 October 2026 · 9 min read

For a WooCommerce store, what counts most is the number of PHP workers (how many orders at once), page cache and a Redis object cache, the renewal price (in Poland the median renewal is 4.3× the first year), off-server backups, servers in the EU and free migration without downtime. Disk space and the number of sites matter less than the offers suggest.

9 factors and how to check them

FactorWhy it matters for a storeHow to check with the provider
1. PHP workers / processesDecides how many people can place an order at onceA number stated outright; “unlimited” usually means a CPU limit
2. Page cacheProducts and categories without loading PHPLiteSpeed with LSCache or an equivalent server cache
3. Object cache (Redis)Faster cart, account and adminWhether Redis is included and whether it is separate per account
4. Renewal priceA store runs for yearsThe second-year price in the price list — 2026 report on the Polish market
5. BackupsRestoring after a failure or a bad updateFrequency, retention, whether they are stored off the server
6. Server locationGDPR and response times for customers in EuropeThe data centre’s country stated outright
7. MigrationMoving without interrupting salesWhether the provider moves the store itself, email included
8. SupportA problem on a Friday eveningChannels, languages, whether a human answers
9. Access for AI agents and automationAn agent can fix DNS, files or the database itselfMCP server, scoped API, SSH, WP-CLI — details

Questions to ask before you buy

  • How many PHP workers does the plan have, and what happens when the limit is exceeded?
  • What will I pay for the second year, including SSL, backups and email?
  • Where are the servers physically located, and are backups kept on separate hardware?
  • Is migration free, and who carries it out?
  • Can I change the PHP version separately for each domain?
  • Can an AI agent manage the account without being given my password?

Frequently asked questions

Is ordinary shared hosting enough for WooCommerce?
To start with, yes — if the plan has a page cache and states the number of PHP processes. As the number of simultaneous orders grows, how many requests the plan can handle at once matters more than the price.
Does the number of sites on the account matter?
Less than capacity does. A few sites on a strong plan run better than one site on a plan with a handful of PHP processes. On Aderlo Cloud the number of sites and databases is not limited — plans differ in capacity.
