Hermes Agent is an open-source (MIT-licensed) AI agent from Nous Research that remembers, learns new skills, runs tasks on a schedule and can be reached from Telegram, Slack, WhatsApp and more. On Aderlo Cloud you run it as the Hermes Workspace app in its own container, pick ready-made roles for your store (such as sales analyst, SEO specialist or email marketing) and connect it to your hosting, NetSendo or n8n.
How Hermes differs from a chatbot
| Feature | Chatbot | Hermes Agent |
|---|---|---|
| Memory | Starts from zero in every conversation | Remembers what was agreed and searches earlier conversations |
| Skills | Whatever the provider gave it | Creates and improves its own skills (agentskills.io format) |
| Scheduling | Answers when you ask | Built-in cron: reports, reviews, backups — without your involvement |
| Where you talk to it | In a browser window | Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Signal, terminal |
| AI model | One, chosen by the provider | Any model provider, switchable without rewriting anything |
| Tools | Limited | Terminal, browser, MCP servers, sub-agents for parallel work |
Hermes on Aderlo Cloud: roles for your store
A freshly installed agent knows nothing about your store. That is why on Aderlo Cloud Hermes comes with ready-made roles — sets of skills you switch on with one click in the panel:
| Role | What it does |
|---|---|
| Growth strategist | Works out what is holding the store back, a 90-day plan, and which role to use for which job |
| WooCommerce specialist | Rebuilds pages to sell, speeds the store up, keeps WordPress in order |
| Sales analyst | Reads real orders and tells you what changed and what to do first |
| SEO specialist | Finds what is blocking Google, fixes titles, structured data and linking |
| Store copywriter | Product and category descriptions, plus a content plan |
| Store designer | Sales graphics and social creatives from photos of your products |
| Social media specialist | Calendar and posts for Facebook, Instagram and TikTok |
| Shorts and Reels producer | Vertical videos from script to finished file |
| Ads specialist | Wasted budget in Google and Meta, new ads, product feed |
| Email marketing specialist | Campaigns and automations in NetSendo: welcomes, abandoned carts, win-backs |
| Allegro seller | Allegro listings that can be found, priced with commission and margin |
| Automation (n8n) | Fixes n8n workflows and checks them before saving |
How Hermes works with your hosting
- Over MCP: Hermes connects to the Aderlo Cloud MCP server and works on files, DNS and databases within the scopes you grant.
- With your tools: you connect NetSendo, n8n and other services in the panel; keys reach the agent as tools, not as text in the conversation.
- On a separate machine: the agent’s container runs on the application server, apart from the store’s website, so heavy agent work does not slow down sales.
- On your own model-provider account: you pay for tokens directly and choose the model yourself.
When Hermes makes sense, and when it does not
- It makes sense when you repeat the same work every week — reports, descriptions, posts, clean-ups — and want it to happen without you.
- It makes sense when you want to talk to the agent from your phone rather than sit at a computer.
- It does not make sense for one question a month — an ordinary assistant with MCP access is enough for that.
- It needs supervision: the agent writes and changes things in your store, so start the first few weeks with read-only tasks.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Hermes Agent free?
- The software itself is open source under the MIT licence. You pay for where it runs (on Aderlo Cloud: application capacity included in your plan or added in the panel) and for the AI model from the provider you choose.
- Can Hermes change my store on its own?
- Yes, if you give it the tools and scopes to do so. That is why you grant hosting access over MCP with selected scopes, and you can revoke it with one click.
